The Insect Museum is the biggest insectarium on the Sea of Japan side. 

There are a lot of insect waiting for you! In the "Butterfly Garden", you can see flowers blooming in profusion and a thousand fluttering butterflies.

There are about 20 species insects including Hercules beetle, Leaf like insect and diving beetles  in "Watching Section".

There are biotope besides the Museum, you can enjoy stroll and  hunting bugs. 

In addition, we prepare lots of events and special exhibitions.

Opening hours

Aplil to Octorber          AM9:30~PM5:00

Norvember to March AM9:30~PM4:30

(Please check in 30 minutes before closeing time.)

・Tuesday

(except for National Holidays on Tuesday, in which case the museum is open on the holiday. and closed the following weekday instead. The museum is also open on Tuesday between July 20th to August 31th and Golden week. )

・December 29th to January 1st.

Child

(High school and below)

200 yen 150 yen

※Admission is free for preschool children.

 Admission is free for Junior high school and below on May 5th (Children's Day).

 Admission is free for 65 years old or older on third Monday of September.

Preparation for babies

Nursing Room

We prepare the nursing room at 1st floor.

Strollers (pushchairs)

We lend the strollers for free at reception (We have only three strollers). 

In order to prevent spreading of the Novel Coronavirus-infected Pneumonia, we stop lending strollers now.

Wheelchairs

We lend the wheelchairs for free at reception.
